KL Henriques Harper was born in Boston, Massachusetts and spent most of her life in the United States. She studied at Indiana University, before marrying her high-school sweetheart and having two children. The family now lives in Zurich, Switzerland

As a child KL could often be found living in her own world and her interest in fantasy stories, having read them from a young age, became the catalyst for her to start her own writing career. She draws inspiration from her many adventures and the places she has visited.

As she often struggled to find characters who resonated with her, she decided to create those for herself and for others who have also found the same scarcity of them in their own reading lists.
